Writing Lab Participation

Watch an in-depth explanation of the Writing Lab submission and feedback process, along with guidance for giving feedback with the Writing Lab Evaluation Form.

Access the Writing Lab Google Drive folder.

In it, you’ll see the current month’s folder, titled by the date.

To participate, follow these steps:

  1. Upload your writing for review to that month’s folder by EOD on the Sunday before the lab. (For example, by Sunday, Nov. 23 for the Writing Lab on Wednesday, Nov. 25).

    You may submit one document of any length, but only up to 5 double-spaced pages will be reviewed.

    Use a 12-pt font and double-space to make the file easier to read.

    Title your file: [First Name Last Name Month.Day.Year] such as: Cindy Childress 11.20.24

  2. Download your classmates’ files any time starting the Monday morning before the lab.

  3. Read and respond to their writing (up to 5 pages) using the Writing Lab Evaluation Form.

  4. Attend the session ready to discuss their writing and receive feedback on yours.

  5. Upload any written feedback for your classmates into that month’s folder and tag them in the document. Title your feedback: Your Last Name for Their Last Name Month.Day.Year, such as: Childress for Charles 1.15.25

Your submission is your commitment to your classmates to read and respond to their writing, as their submissions commit the same to you.

The Writing Lab Archive folder contains all previous months.
