3-Day Beachside Writing Retreat

Unlock your writing and let it flow onto the page

3 Full Days—Saturday, June 28-Monday, June 30

with Dr. Cindy, The Expert’s Ghostwriter®

You know you’ve got a book—or five—to write.

But your ideas are overwhelming and all over the place.

When you sit down to write, you’re not sure where to start or how to tie your thoughts together.

A classic case of writer’s block.

And let’s be real—you rarely have enough time to really focus on your book, anyway.

That’s why you keep putting it off and doing faster and easier things instead.

I totally get it.

Even as a ghostwriter, I can let a day get away from me. Or a week.

Then I start feeling guilty that I’m letting people down and letting myself down.

That’s a slippery slope that can lead to abandoning the project altogether.

Well, that’s not an option for me. And I won’t let it be for you either.

All you need is to get out of the day-to-day and immerse yourself in your book.

This 3-Day Beachside Writing Retreat is designed so you can do just that.

In a creativity-charged environment, I’ll share a few simple tools to get you into a writing flow.

Whether you haven’t written a word, started writing and then stopped, are writing at a snail’s pace, or finished your draft and are avoiding editing it… this event is for you.

(And yes! These pictures are of the actual venue 😉)

DAY PASS EXPERIENCE—1 spot left!

Overlooking a beach, you’ll open your laptop and know exactly what to write.

You start writing, and it flows like a current of the water is pouring your thoughts onto the page.

Any time writing feels hard, I’ll be standing by to wave my fairy godmother wand and make it easy.

With a book writing expert gently holding you accountable—and a community of writers cheering you on—you’ll bust through your writing goals like Bruce Lee in Enter the Dragon.

Each morning, you’ll stroll a couple blocks to the venue feeling refreshed. Duck in throughout the day for a nap, a shower, or some solitude.

And each evening, when you’re ready, you’ll unwind with your housemates in a well-equipped, brand-spanking new beach house overlooking a lake.

You’ll have a King Suite with a bathroom to yourself.

At the end of your retreat, you’ll have a #shit-ton of writing done and more confidence in yourself as a writer than you thought possible.

Meet YOur Host

Hi! I’m honored that you’re here.

I’m Cindy Childress, Ph.D., an award-winning ghostwriter and author mentor, completing 48 published books in 8 years (Many of them award-winners and bestsellers).

Throughout my career, my ghostwriting clients and book writing students have said two things:

  1. They’re overwhelmed and struggle to focus on their book (aka, ‘writer’s block’).

  2. They don’t have enough time to write.

That’s why I created the Beachside Writing Retreat to eliminate both writing obstacles.

You can accomplish an extraordinary amount of writing in three focused days.

Especially with my “Ease of Flow” writing philosophy: Anything that feels hard can feel easy.

I’m thrilled to share my cadre of writer’s block hacks and strategies for boosting creativity so you can get out of your head and write what’s in your heart and on your mind.

You get a total package: My tools are a mixture of creative writing techniques (with a doctorate in English), marketing and copywriting savvy (I was an email marketing manager for a nationwide company), and working with energy and vibrations (I co-wrote a book on the Law of Attraction).

I’m also a volunteer foster mom for cats and kittens, a total foodie, and a world traveler.

Can’t wait to support your writing goals and hang out with you at the beach!

FAQs

FOOD

I’m pretty picky and on a special diet. Will you take care of me?

Yes. Your welcome email contains a link to fill out the Dietary Needs and Preferences form.

Whether you’re gluten-free, vegan, or don’t like cooked tomatoes—at all—just make that clear, and you’ll be all set.

I care about this as a long-time vegetarian and having lost 80 lbs. and kept it off for over 20 years.

It’s important to eat what works for you. I’ve got you.

LODGING

Where should I stay?

All attendees may check into your suites on July 27th and check out on July 1.

You may want to add time at the beginning or end of your trip to enjoy all that Galveston has to offer!

TRAVEL

What travel plans do you recommend?

So you don’t miss anything, plan to arrive on or before the 27th and leave on July 1 (unless you add more time for yourself to enjoy the beach!).

There are two airports with service to Houston, both a little over an hour from Galveston. It's easy to get an Uber/Lyft or taxi to and from either.

George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH)

2800 N Terminal Rd

Houston, TX 77032

Houston Hobby Airport (HOU)

7800 Airport Blvd

Houston, TX 77061

GETTING AROUND

Can I bring my car? Is it easy to find an Uber?

Uber and Lyft drivers are plentiful.

The private community is safe for walking, but be mindful of the heat and sun.

There is parking available at the event venue if you drive or rent a car.

If you need to run into town for that one thing you forgot, my Retreat Assistant will be there to help you sort it out.

I don't recommend using the bus system because it doesn't have a reputation for reliability.

WHY GALVESTON?

I’ve never heard of this place before. Is it any good?

Well, I almost booked us a place in Houston with ten King Suites that all had a writing desk. But the yard was just a small patch of grass and one sad-looking tree.

And I tend to attract people who want to be outside and near nature. You wouldn’t have been happy there.

Then, I thought of Galveston.

It’s an unpretentious historic beach town, and what if I could get us a place right on the sand with the ocean in view?

The area isn’t congested with a million things to do so you can focus on writing.

But, if you need to stretch your legs, there’s the Galveston Island State Park, Moody Gardens, and the Bryan Museum—and so much more. Not to mention dolphin watching!
