“you helped me move the dial”

The difference between telling a story that’s ‘interesting’ and one that’s powerful and impactful may only be in changing a handful of sentences.

However, that minor adjustment may actually take something from moving the dial by millimeters versus moving it by miles. Your comments helped move the dial by miles…

FAQs

  1. If I work with a ghostwriter, am I still the author?

Absolutely, yes. The book is your intellectual property and your authority, experience, and stories. The ghostwriter is not listed as the author.

  2. How long does it take to write a book?

Typically, 6-12 months. Dr. Cindy can work faster and has completed a book in 2 months, but it’s more customary for the author to want to take time and reflect on the choices.

  3. Do you offer payment plans?

Yes. You may pay in full and save 5%, or you can make monthly payments that follow the length of time we agree upon for your project, i.e. six payments over six months.

  4. Do you partner with authors?

I always consider myself a partner with my clients and work tirelessly to help you be successful… but, I don't work on projects without being paid at the time I do the work.

  5. Do you also edit the book?

Yes, fairy godmother editing include developmental and line/copy editing. However, I suggest engaging a proofreader to find the grammar errors and typos.

  6. What else would I need to think about for self-publishing?

You’ll want to work with a book formatter to typeset your manuscript and a book cover designer to make your book look professional—and I have excellent, vetted referrals for both. I always recommend publishing with Ingram Spark, which lists your book on Amazon, as well as Barnes and Noble and makes it available to wholesale order for bookstores. And I have a referral partner that guarantees Amazon Bestseller status if that’s important to you.

  7. I don’t know if I should self-publish or try to publish commercially.

If you don’t have a very large and engaged audience, it’s difficult to get a book agent for non-fiction and self-help, and I would suggest that you consider self-publishing AND start building your audience now so you have someone to sell it to when your book is finished. If you do have a large and engaged audience and want to work with a publisher, you’ll want to prepare a book proposal and find an agent first instead of writing the book first.
