A-List Authors Mastermind

Maximize your impact

3 Full Days—Monday, October 27-Wednesday, October 29

Downtown Houston, TX

hosted by Dr. Cindy, The Expert’s Ghostwriter®

Your Ideas are Worth Spreading

With a wealth of experience and knowledge, you’re the real deal.

There’s so much to share, you know you’ve got a book—or five—to write.

The kind of expert with proprietary frameworks and a proven “been there, done that” track record of results to showcase.

And let’s be real—you don’t want to write just any old skinny, error-filled, robotic-sounding “bestseller” like your colleague. You know the one.

That’s not your style.

More than a ‘business card book,’ your primary driver is aspirational:You want to write an impact-driven book that sells boatloads of copies and carries your ideas far and wide to readers for years to come.

But when you sit down to write, your ideas are overwhelming and all over the place.

Perfectionism has you revising the first page(s) over and over, imposter syndrome has you doubting every idea, lest it be criticized, and you spend more time looking up writing hacks than actually putting pen to paper.

ChatGPT isn’t the solution because it makes you sound like the status quo when your writing is disruptive and original. Or at least, that’s the point.

It’s embarrassing to be writing this book for so long and have little to show for it, when your team and your clients look to you for guidance, and you (almost) always have a great answer for them.

So, how come you’re not knocking your book out of the park?

Maybe it’s not because you’re a bad writer, because you lack discipline, or because you’re not enough.

Expecting yourself to sit down and magically write like Malcom Gladwell or Glennon Doyle is like never playing baseball and thinking you’ll hit home runs like Shohei Ohtani.

What if, instead, you need to allow yourself:

  • To be a beginner

  • To be messy for a change and not have everything figured out

  • To be curious what’s possible for you and how to get there

  • To be intentional about a “why” for writing this book that’s bigger than you

The A-List Authors Mastermind to Maximize Your Impact is designed so you can do just that and more.

Whether you haven’t written a word, started writing and then stopped, are writing at a snail’s pace, or finished your draft and are avoiding editing it… this event is for you.

Meet YOur Host

Hi! I’m honored that you’re here.

I’m Cindy Childress, Ph.D., an award-winning ghostwriter and author mentor, completing 50 published books in 8 years (Many of them award-winners and bestsellers).

Throughout my career, my ghostwriting clients and book writing students have said two things:

  1. They’re overwhelmed and struggle to focus on their book (aka, ‘writer’s block’).

  2. They don’t have enough time to write.

That’s why I created the Beachside Writing Retreat to eliminate both writing obstacles.

You can accomplish an extraordinary amount of writing in three focused days.

Especially with my “Ease of Flow” writing philosophy: Anything that feels hard can feel easy.

I’m thrilled to share my cadre of writer’s block hacks and strategies for boosting creativity so you can get out of your head and write what’s in your heart and on your mind.

You get a total package: My tools are a mixture of creative writing techniques (with a doctorate in English), marketing and copywriting savvy (I was an email marketing manager for a nationwide company), and working with energy and vibrations (I co-wrote a book on the Law of Attraction).

I’m also a volunteer foster mom for cats and kittens, a total foodie, and a world traveler.

Can’t wait to support your writing goals and hang out with you at the beach!

FAQs

FOOD

I’m pretty picky and on a special diet. Will you take care of me?

Yes. Your welcome email contains a link to fill out the Dietary Needs and Preferences form.

Whether you’re gluten-free, vegan, or don’t like cooked tomatoes—at all—just make that clear, and you’ll be all set.

I care about this as a long-time vegetarian and having lost 80 lbs. and kept it off for over 20 years.

It’s important to eat what works for you. I’ve got you.

LODGING

Where should I stay?

The Lancaster Hotel is a 1-2 minute walk from the venue; they’re on the same city block, so you don’t even have to cross the street.

Downtown Houston has basically every major hotel chain and Airbnb options, so anywhere you stay should be a brisk walk or a short ride away.

TRAVEL

What travel plans do you recommend?

So you don’t miss anything, arrive no later than the afternoon of Sunday, October 26, and depart no sooner than the morning of Thursday, October 30.

What airport should I fly into?

There are two airports with service to Houston, and both are about the same distance from downtown. It's easy to get an Uber/Lyft or taxi to and from either.

George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH)

2800 N Terminal Rd

Houston, TX 77032

Houston Hobby Airport (HOU)

7800 Airport Blvd

Houston, TX 77061

GETTING AROUND

Can I bring my car? Is it easy to find an Uber?

Uber and Lyft drivers are plentiful.

There is paid parking at the event venue if you drive or rent a car.

I don't recommend using the bus system because it doesn't have a reputation for reliability.
